What a vaccination record holds
Each entry is one vaccination: the name (rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, FVRCP or anything else), the date it was given, an optional reminder date, and notes. You can attach a photo or PDF of the certificate to the entry, so the paperwork travels with the record instead of living in a drawer.
The timeline sorts by date, newest first, and shows the next due date beside each vaccination. When something lapses you can see it at a glance, and so can anyone you share the record with.
Start with the one they ask for
You do not have to type in a whole history to get value. Most requests from boarding, groomers and landlords come down to the rabies certificate. Photograph it, add it as the first entry, and you already have what most of them want. Add the rest whenever you have a spare minute.
Reminders before a booster lapses
Set a reminder date on any vaccination and PawPass emails you before it, while there is still time to book the appointment. Paid plans add a push notification on top. See reminders.
Dogs, cats and everything else
The record is not tied to a vaccine list, so it works for a dog’s DHPP and Bordetella, a cat’s FVRCP and FeLV, or a rabbit’s RHDV. If you are not sure what your pet should have and when, the dog vaccine schedule and cat vaccine schedule guides lay it out.
Common questions
- Can I attach the actual certificate?
- Yes. Any vaccination entry can carry a photo or PDF attachment. It is stored privately and only reachable by you and your household. Shared pages show the record’s dates and notes, not the attachment.
- Does PawPass import records from my vet?
- Not automatically. You type entries in, or on the Pro plan import a whole history from a CSV. There is no connection to clinic systems yet, and we will say so here when that changes.
