How a share works
- Open your pet and tap Create a share link. PawPass generates an unguessable link and the QR code for it.
- Hold up the QR code, or send the link. The other side opens it in their browser. No account, no app.
- They see a read-only page: your pet’s name, species, breed and birth date, and the records you have entered, with dates and notes.
- The link expires on the date you set. You can revoke it earlier in one tap, and you can see how many times it has been opened.
What the other side sees
A single page, formatted for a phone, headed with your pet’s name and marked view-only. Vaccinations, vet visits and other records are listed with their dates and your notes. There is no edit button, no sign-up prompt, and no link back into your account.
Made for the moment at the counter
Kennels, groomers and daycare mostly want to see the rabies date and a couple of others before they take your pet. A QR code on your phone is faster than a folder and does not need their Wi-Fi to work; the page loads on their phone over their own connection.
One share, or many
The free plan keeps one active share at a time, which is enough for most people: create it for the groomer, revoke it after the appointment. Plus and Pro allow unlimited shares, so a sitter, a kennel and a landlord can each have their own link with its own expiry.
Common questions
- Does the kennel need a PawPass account?
- No. They open the link or scan the code and see the page. They never sign up for anything.
- Can I stop a share after I have sent it?
- Yes. Revoke it from the share screen and the link stops working immediately, for anyone who has it.
- Can the other side edit anything?
- No. Shares are read-only. To let someone add records, invite them to your pet’s household instead, which is a Plus feature.
